July 2024 1st Week Delectable Reviews
We had some close family friends visiting from overseas and she loves Chablis. I drank some lovely white wines as summer in Houston kicked into high gear.

Recommended Pairing: Seasoned Wild Salmon Filets
Sancerre is a Loire Valley French wine that's well known for their Sauvignon Blanc white wines. However, rosé and red wines are also allowed. This is a richer-style Pinot Noir rosé that shouldn't be chilled too much and can pair well with a variety of foods.
This wine would have been even better without the funky aromas but it's still a refreshing aperitif wine.
Recommended Pairing: Shrimp Salad with Dill
Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is a distinctive category of white wine but within that there is a big range of quality and styles. Astrolabe's here is fantastic for the price, under $20.
Recommended Pairing: Rabbit Hot Dogs
Beaujolais Villages is one step down from the single village Cru Beaujolais wines, I found solid QPR here. Though I enjoyed this with some unusual rabbit & pork sausages cooked in white wine, it's a great summertime chilled wine for burgers & hot dogs.
